- Dentists who train at the Institute are an aspiring minority. Less than 5% of all dentists are Pankey Institute-trained.
- Dr. Pankey changed the course of dentistry because his mother's dentures were a constant, painful irritation. When he first began practicing dentistry, it was common to simply pull teeth rather than restore them and most people expected to lose all their teeth in old age. Dr. Pankey's mother told him one day, 'I hope you aren't doing to others what was done to me' (all teeth pulled). From that day forward, he vowed to never pull another tooth.
- In the 34 years the Institute has been in existence, more than 17,000 students have visited us.
- Dr. Pankey began his Philosophy of Dentistry lectures in 1956.

- The L.D. Pankey Foundation enjoys more than 490 members in the Institute's Class One Triple Plus Club (donors of at least $10,000).
- Dr. Pankey's definition of professionalism was 'that quality of conduct which accompanies the use of superior knowledge, skill and judgment toward the benefit of another person or society prior to any consideration of self-interest.'
- According to a 1998 Practice Operations Study, Pankey practitioners had on average 25.5% greater net income than ADA practitioners. Pankey practitioners who worked less than 1600 hours per year generated 37% more median net income than the typical ADA independent practitioner.
