Direct Composite Restorations: Merging Practicality and Predictability
Led by Dr. Corky Willhite and Dr. Susan Hollar
Whether you are a beginner or a master with direct composite resin restorations, this course will expand your options, enhance your abilities, and improve your success. Composite resin is perhaps the most versatile of all restorative materials, with applications ranging from conservative enamel repairs to extensive reconstructions. This hands-on course will cover the gamut of these possibilities as well as detailed exercises on layering techniques to produce outstanding aesthetics. Along with the micro-aesthetic details of layering and surface anatomy, there will be extensive discussions of the macro-aesthetics of smile design.
No matter how proficient you are at making restorations look great, longevity is the key to success. Therefore, this course will focus on how to build functional composite restorations that will last. With predictability as our ultimate goal, proven occlusal concepts will be incorporated into every technique discussion and participation exercise. Toward that end, we will discuss when and how to use composite resins to restore anterior guidance and even to open vertical dimension. The obvious advantage with these techniques is that we can provide these beautiful, predictable restorations with minimal preparations in a single visit and in the most economical fashion possible.
