Dr. Allison Fowler has a special approach to dentistry because of the many hours she spent in the dental chair as a patient. She is congenitally missing three permanent teeth and underwent long-term orthodontic treatment, bridges, surgery, and dental implants so that she could smile without large spaces between her teeth. Her extensive treatment from dentists of varying skill levels has given Dr. Fowler a unique perspective that allows her to be a gentle, understanding dentist.
Dr. Fowler was born in Midland, Texas, and graduated from Midland High School in 2005. After graduation, she moved to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University. As a senior at SMU, Dr. Fowler was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She graduated cum laude from SMU in 2009 with a degree in Biological Sciences and minors in chemistry and Spanish.
After graduating from SMU, Dr. Fowler attended Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry (TAMUBCD). While studying at TAMUBCD, she spent a summer researching the genes associated with congenitally missing teeth, and was active in the curriculum committee during her last three years. In addition, Dr. Fowler served as President of the TAMUBCD chapter of Texas Association of Women Dentists. She was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society and the Odontological Honor Society. In May 2013, Dr. Fowler graduated eighth in her class.
Dr. Fowler is passionate about dentistry because she loves working with her hands and teaching her patients about their oral health. She receives the most satisfaction from improving patients’ self-esteem by helping them achieve bright, healthy smiles.
