1.1 What is the Pankey Philosophy?

The Pankey Philosophy of the Practice of Dentistry respects the unique value of each person. Dentists are challenged to:

• Know themselves and their patients,
• Know their work,
• Keep abreast of emerging technology and knowledge,
• Master these to the absolute best of their ability and
• Help patients make appropriate choices to achieve comprehensive treatment.

Although the Institute stands for clinical, professional and personal excellence, it is NOT our intent to impose an intimidating set of ideals on our students.

We recognize that striving for excellence is a personal journey, and each person pursing it is a unique individual. The practice you create for yourself will be uniquely your own.

The Institute has always stood for professionalism, work and personal life balance, and optimum care for patients. We are not affiliated with any church or religion.

We have seven resident faculty members who guide the direction of the Department of Education:

• Gary DeWood, D.D.S., Clinical Director

• Dake Schwarte, M.B.A., C.F.P., Business Systems & Marketing Manager
• Mark T. Murphy, D.D.S., Director of Marketing and Public Relations

Our visiting faculty is comprised of more than 60 professionals.
