Our Focus Courses for Advanced Dental Education

A well-rounded curriculum of focus courses has been designed specifically for adult learners with busy lives who need to maximize their learning time away from the office and get the most from their continuing education investment. Most are standalone courses with no prerequisite. The menu bar on the right will take you to each course description.

Each focus course is dedicated to a clinical topic such as smile design or TMD or to a practice development topic such practice marketing or strategic management. Each is taught by an expert or experts in the field and provide in-depth knowledge, in many cases, taking the student beyond what is presented in the Institute’s Essentials courses and providing more hands-on experiential learning.

Our focus courses typically meet for 1.5 or 2.5 days. Currently, there are two exceptions to the "short" course format: Aesthetics 1 and A Comprehensive Look at TMD. Both of these courses are full-immersion courses, much like the Essentials, running from 12:00 p.m. on Sunday to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.

We have a world-class visiting faculty dedicated to helping you develop and create the practice you envision. As in our Essentials courses, the focus course faculty will intentionally get to know you and continue communication with you after your class.

Most of the focus courses will be offered only one or two times per year. New focus courses will be added during the year. We recommend early registration.
