John is the owner and president of Dental Ceramics, Inc., since 1988. Prior to that the company was led by his father Charles Lavicka. John’s son, Andrew is a 3rd generation co-owner of the lab. John has devoted more than 30 years to developing a dental laboratory that focuses on the delivery of exceptional laboratory services combining art, science and technology with personalized attention and care. In 2006, he founded The Center for Exceptional Practices, a ADA CERP and AGD PACE certified facility, designed to enable the restorative dentist and his/her team to achieve higher levels of success and satisfaction in clinical practice, through lecture and hands-on programs. Professionally, John is a member of AACD, and since 2009, he has been an active student at The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL. In 2013, he became a Visiting Faculty member for their Essentials Program and in 2016, he was elected to serve on the Board of The Pankey Institute.

Having grown up in the business at the bench of his father, Charlie, John joined the company in 1972 and became its president in 1988. In 2006, John established The Center for Exceptional Practices, an ADA CERP and AGD PACE recognized provider of dental education, to enable restorative dentists.
